You gotta work on your side of arguments better than just a "I find it annoying".
Of course everyone has their own preference and opinions but you're just not using the most features the way they are meant to and that's because you are not used to them and the good old resistance towards changes law applies here.

It's the forumotion to be blamed about the 100 year old issue I believe, as I didn't tinker around with any such option in the panel.
The ranks and name ARE above avatar over here, not sure what kind of browser you're using that probably has issues reading java scripts.
About the extending of the topic column, yes thats legit and there can be done something about it. It's a hit or miss though so ni guarantee.
The who is online is there at the bottom I know, but what's wrong with having it on the sides I wonder.
Also Recent topics.. It's so useful to jump right in the new topics, old users will obviously still check out the topics by visiting forum. It's the FIRST time I am hearing someone say they don't like recent topics, everyone demands it nowadays.

resistance to change is logical. why would someone want something they liked before to change in a way they might not like? if people got used to a site, or anything, from using/having them for years, i would need a really good reason to change even the smallest thing. you might not really know how changing something will affect people.
for example, since the page got smaller becouse of the widget things on the right, i can now see the votes on a post, and everything without scrolling right. i use 800x600 resolution, and i might not be the only one. it is what i used since windows 98, and i really dont need it to be different.

dont know why its like that then. the only javascript error i get is this: a.compareDocumentPosition is not a function

well they take up space and everything, kindof unnecessarily.
people could always just use the LAST POSTS row to get to the latest topic or post in a board, or whatever they are called

if they kept using the midget thing instead of going in the boards if the forum was a bit more alive/active, they would miss most of the new posts, since it only shows the very last 8.
so if you posted something but immediately 8 others also did, your post wont be seen if people only rely on that thingie.
a close button or something would be good eatleast (atleast) , the view harrasser following header had a hide button before, but now it doesnt. it had to be pressed like every time though.

but whatevers, maybe you shouldnt listen to me.

Who the hell goes down to see who is online when you can have at it the side and also see the latest posts? Its a very useful feature. Besides, new threads arent made THAT very often. You WONT miss anything...

Renovations are necessary. If humans didnt evolve, then we wouldn't be here. We would be standing on a rock with one finger up our nose and with the other hand scratching our hairy ass like simpletons.

Was developing the fire a great renovation? Damn straight it was. Without it, our lives would be much harder. But, of course, not all were that great.

Whether anyone admits it, accepts it or not, the forums needed a change. Would you watch the News if they showed you the exact same thing from time to time? Damn straight you wouldn't.

Instead of debating on what already has been done, how bout we debate on what NOT has been done. Savvy?

Things can't always stay the same it's confirmed again, whether it's a forum or something else. Otherwise, progress and any talk about progression much less the idea of it would cease to exist. Besides, there had been talks about renovating the forum for months; this should be of no surprise to anyone, especially you.

I can understand why you might not like the way it looks now and I'm sure a few other people don't, but it's already happened and any chance of going back to the old forum layout isn't happening so you might as well accept it as is. It's not perfect, but it works and that is what is important.

Unfortunately, the news does show the exact same thing from time to time. If it's not about someone dying, it's about something else. That's why I only watch it for the weather for the rest of the week. Local news is usually unimportant to me.
