Groundhog Day

Alright for all of you European/anywhere-else-but-america readers out there.. you may not know what this is. Here in America we actually have a traditional, nation-wide holiday where we watch a stupid little groundhog come out of it's hole/den. If it sees it's shadow, we get X amount more days/weeks of winter.
Not kidding, that's it. How stupid are we? I use to dislike "lets just blow up America" comment but now I can actually see the benefits. We literally celebrate a holiday suggesting a pheasant has control over nature. A PHEASANT! Add this to our Fahrenheit sytem, miles/feet in measuring system.. I honestly would like to move out very quickly.
Anyone else notice how ridiculous this stupid holiday is? I can only imagine the idiots that came up with this brilliant theory.

I think that is only for the little kids. I would not imagine why would older people waste their time with Groundhog day.

In my language, there is only "hän" which means "that female or male". We have word for "it" tho
