God related books.

It's not only about books, it's also about how they fail by proving it. I was a Muslim at once, and I think, I'm still Muslim, but...

In every group of people there are those that take things too literal. They take things too far. They become corrupt because of misunderstandings. In every religion there are arguements to be made over what certian things mean. There will always be those people who become completely obsessed in their belief that their 'god' wants them to do this one thing.

Unfortunately that one thing that is being taken to extreme here is purging the world of nonbelievers. There will always be these kinds of people. That is why there is no way to condemn the religion and it's followers as a whole. Every religion has had people that act in this sort of way, just look at how many 'holy' wars are on record.

A religion itself cannot be responcible for everyone who swears they follow it. I don't care what that religion is, there's always someone who is a complete loony about what the religion means. I think the only possible expection to this is Buddism, and that I'm not so sure of either.

I regret that so many of the followers of Muslim religious practices have taken things this far, it's really sad to see something that's supposed to be pure, and supposed to guide you to a rich afterlife be perverted in this way. It's sick on a level, really it is, but that does not mean that the religion is wrong. It means that the people following it have lost their sense of what they wanted from the religion in the first place. I think that comes from it being shoved down their throats sense before most of them can even remember it.

That is why I do not believe in forcing a religion on anyone, much less making a whole groups (in this case countrys) follow the same thing. You need the other opinions to challenge your own beliefs and make you have to really ask yourself 'Is this how I feel'.

I'm sure alot of people probly stopped reading by now, but for those that didn't I feel that the religion and it's followers are misunderstood. I also feel that some of them deserve a bullet to the brain, but would prefer to give them a much more painful death, the bullet seems so merciful for what some of them have done.

To clarify I am not Muslim or Christian, this arguement is without bias toward either of the two. This is how I see the question being asked were it reference any other religion, Muslim is just the example.

In the bible is says "And on the 3rd day God created the Sun" or something along those lines.

Tell me this...how do you know it was the 3rd day when there was no Sun? We tell time by the setting and rising Sun to this day....the Aztecs used a Sun dial to accurately tell time.

actually ages it use to be different then to now how it says Abraham was 99 years old and his wife was 500 year old when he received a covernet from yahwee (meaning god) but they use to know how old they were by how many time it rained in there life like e.g. if it rained 2 times in one day you'll will be 2 years older than you are so we dont know how long is 1 day when god created the sun probably 1 day was 1 year but we just say "it just is"

some stuff in the old testament isn't real its just the meaning behind the passage is what it really means

In some cases, I deeply disagree with what a religion presents.

This may be suggestions or statements of inequality of race, gender, etc.

This may be what it says to do, like some omnipotent, omniscient,
benevolent deity demands you die and take as many as possible despite it
having supposedly given life to you all, for example.

There are fanatics, yes, and these people aren't often solely caused by
the religion, but the religion allows said nutjobs to flourish in perspective.

Religion exists because belief is a powerful tool for hope and control,

Ok, for ALL Christians...

Do you realize how much the bible has been changed? Not to mention the fact that the New Testament (the bible Christians use) is supposedly a translation of the Old testment? Which is the book of the Jewish people? So you Christians more than likely interpret it the "wrong" way anyways.

Doesn't matter how long something has been around...
I have yet to see much of anything the Bible to be true...
some pieces of it may have a few facts here and there about war or whatever..but anything else is complete BS in my opinion.
