How many consecutive pushups you can perform?

Please just answer poll if you don't want to get flamed because of your performance is too low or unbelieveable high.

lol,well I never tried my maximum on push-ups

will try in some moments,after I catch my breath,just came home from football

and I expect the number to be low,cuz I barely did anything last 3 weeks

Like Dominem, I never tried my maximum. But since THE FUCKING WINTER is online in our place, everyday I only sit in the house and eat, so I have to do some exercises, so stay fit and hot of course. awesome

So yeah, I'm doing push ups, every second day 100 of them, in 5 series (20 x 5).

My number would be 20>, and I could also do 30 of them, but then I would need a longer break, and that's not effective if you want to exercise frequently. Better do 20 x 5 push ups in 20 minutes, then 30 x 3 in 40 minutes.

btw you should use shorten your recovery time. Max 2 min per set, that way your training will be super effective!
If you need to rest more, shorten your sets and add more of them.

After seeing that I'm not alone here.. I can do 65 atm. My target is to reach 100 in 2 months. When I started my epic journey, my limit was 22.




edit: Don't try this at home if you don't already have some muscles, since its bad for your body.

i can only do 45-55 now max. i could do 60 when i was still doing karate
damn i should go get into shape again

i do 45-55 at first, then 30 stand ups and 60 situps
then just 30 pushups, 20 stand ups 50 situps and so on. until i get so tired that i can hardly even stand

i mean hardly even move myself. of course its hard to stand after that many standups

oh goody,I just tried I did 26 and couldn't do more,well it's night now and I'm exhausted,but still

I used to have maximum at 50>

Damn, you guys are good.

Also, note for the beginners: nutrition is very important if you want to work on your muscles. So make sure you eat food with plently of proteins and less fats.

A lot of people can't do as many as 30 push ups. You don't begin lefting dead weight intel you have done the basics with a home gym and push ups and sit ups. Tighten your muscles up and then start on the dead weight.

Anyway I kept going and I could do 146 on an empty stomach and 182 on a full stomach haha.

Doing Push-Ups actually does build muscles, and I am sure because 9 months ago when I was forced to do 300 per day in a row...

@Bizzy Bone: How long would it take in your opinion. For a skinny guy to get bigger? Like really start to show muscles... but he only uses a home gym, no barbell (Bench Press).
