Re: Favourite Game
Mine are...
The Legend of Zelda Wind Waker(still one of Nintendo's best games even 6 years since it came out)
Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime 3 Corruption(both good, Echoes was ok)
The Megaman Battle Network games(all 6 of them)
Megaman Zero 1 - 4, all great GBA games
Castelvania Cirle of the Moon(one of my favorites)
Phantasy Star Collection, longtime fan of the series
Super Dodgeball Advance, always fun to play
Advance Wars 1 and 2, both are good to play
Fire Emblem, not the best in strategy games, but still learning
Twilight Princess was a letdown. Far too simple to play and bosses seemed like they were nothing compared to the other Zelda games.

Actualy I dunno... I think I`ll go with
Second Sight
Lego Star Wars(only the 1st) - Not quite sure about this one, seemed to easy.
THPS4 - Tony Hawk`s Pro Skater 4, old and squery, but you gotta love it.
Dofus - Thumbs up for this one.
USM - Ultimate Spider-Man
Spore and Xpan Rally
That about all, they`re all for PC, so you ca ncheck them out, I strongly recomend it.

Re: Favourite Game
Shadow the Hedgehog was the worst idea for a game. He rides a bike and shoots guns? Cmon. That was a disaser for a game.
Super Smash Bros. 1 and 2 were both good, and Brawl felt like it was lacking. They messed up Ganondorf, now he sucks overall in Brawl. Only people I use are Meta Knight and sometimes Link. Toon Link is only good for combos and lacks decent attack power. Sonic only has one good trait: his speed.

Re: Favourite Game
Meh, I thought we were supposed to say our favourite game.. not games. When I said zelda I meant ocarina of time of course. But the whole franchise was badass. Twillight princess was amazing; admitedly it was like an expansion of the first one and wasn't too original. But to be honest I Loved that game. I don't know what you mean when you say that it was too simple... but if your complain is on the difficulty then you don't understand the true beauty of zelda (As far as Oot MM and TP goes). I didn't play windwaker, but I have it and I'm going to play it when I finish Okami and a couple other games.
I'm playing a lot of crysis (relatively, I'm not playing too many videogames) right now too.

Re: Favourite Game
What I meant by Twilight Princess being simple were the bosses. For each boss you had to fight, all you to use was the dungeons special weapon you found against them. And Ganondorf wasn't even strong; his attacks were like 1 and a half hearts of damage at best. It was good yes, but seemed like the game was a letdown compared to Ocarnina of Time. THAT was a challenge, so was Majora's Mask. Trust me, I've played every single Zelda game, all being good, Twilight Princess a good way to end the series, but I found it easier than the others. I give Nintendo props for making the interface excellent on the Wii.ipsilonv wrote:Meh, I thought we were supposed to say our favourite game.. not games. Re: Favourite Game
Twillight princess is by no means the end of the series... I hope . Play Zelda Oot right now, it's fuckin easy... as easy as TP. I agree that Okami is more challenging and still has the essense that make those games epic. But I don't feel like the bosses need to be hard... actually I think bosses should start dissappearing with the evolution of games. Too many games focus on the bosses and forget to make a journey as good as the games mentioned above. About the bosses having to be killed by the item you find in the dungeon... that's the premise of Zelda and has always been, and it is the case with most adventure games that work with dungeons. I do believe that TP is not as original as it could have been, and I can see why it could be a letdown to some people. But I played that game thorugh and felt the link in me be reborn from the OoT ashes. It was an awesome step of what is to come. As a sidenote, I got the wii specially for that game...
I see, somewhat, where you are coming from with your comments. But that's because you wanted something that zelda games don't aim for. It was simple yet fun, It satisfied me as an expansion pack to Oot. I do feel like the ocarina should be in every game... that thing was irreplaceable and there has never been a tool that was so epic in any adventure game.
To those who haven't played Oot.. get an emulator and play it, it plays perfectly on a pc. It's perfect even for today's standards. That game cannot be described, it's just perfection materialized into a game. (Heh, lots of "perfects in this paragraph.. well deserved... perfect)
woops.. sory for the long post.

Re: Favourite Game
Really? I think lots of games today don't have boss fights any more, only end levels where theres a ton of enemies. I think they should have bosses more often, bosses that don't just follow a specific strategy, bosses that has a decent AI. But then like u said, with the absence of boss fights, the journey is to the end is getting better.ipsilonv wrote:But I don't feel like the bosses need to be hard... actually I think bosses should start dissappearing with the evolution of games. ntsd... wow...
@Blkdrgn
i thought you hated the NCON series now?
i dont play many games, so i'll have to say either:
Super Smash Bros Melee
Pokemon Platinum (xD)
Gunbound
and... yeh.
PS: one reason brawl was a letdown was because of the really easy events.

Re: Favourite Game
Pfft, Gunbound. Haven't played that in a while, and I kinda still do because of the battle system. All it does is just add characters and stages. BTW Royal wanna brawl now?
Re: Favourite Game
@Omnipotent
I actually talked bullshit right there, because I was only taking into account the games that I have been playing Zelda, Okami, RES 4, Metroid, and even Crysis. I believe that bosses are a way of breaking the monotony of the games. The thing is, as games become better, so does their ability to create bigger universes. When you have this bigger universe, you can have a much broader set of variables which in itself breaks the repetition throughout a game. Boss fights are for linear games.. and this is what gaming is starting to shift away from. Ultimately we want open ended games where you get a parallel universe to play with. Instead of fighting a boss, if you wish you can go and fight the dragon that is in his cave.. but you can find many dragon layers throughout the game. You can have bosses, but not as the only way of progressing. You can create a legendary creature that NEEDS to bee killed for your quest to succeed. But the ideal situation would be one where rather than it being a boss, and a key of unlocking the next level, it would be a necessary kill in order for you to complete your mission. It's hard to explain what I mean, but ultimately bosses should be meshed with the story and the gameplay, rather than being like a minigame. They are like all the minions you kill, but they are just powerfull. Bosses are for linear games, not for open ended games. And open ended games are the future of gaming.
