Re: MMORPG Advices.
MMORPG = MASSIVE MULTIPLAYER ONLINE Role Playing Game.
CS isn't RPG , gothic 1 isn't online.
The 2 GTA's aren't rpgs.

Re: MMORPG Advices.
Dungeons and Dragons online is a pretty good mmo. You have loads of quests to choose from with many ways of going through them. Party dungeons also can become really tense, and you have a great character development system.
Though the graphics aren't the best and armors and such doesn't have that huge variety that WoW has (though the variety is still big). Also, you have a difficulty system for dungeons.
It is free to play with some things you can buy for real cash (though you can buy those with the points you get from doing x amount of quests).

Re: MMORPG Advices.
I'll answer for him on some of em. Guild wars (though only a one time purchase, though I suggest waiting for GW 2), wow, Aion and linage 2 (at least to my knowledge) is not free to play, which means he would have to play on private servers, which (aside from the legality) are unstable (both online and that they may be closed easilly), have many bugs and some options have been disabled.
Both Silkroad and 9 dragons have much grinding in them.
Another mmo that could be interesting is Wolf Team or Warrock which are first person shooter mmo, and Rose Online (though changes might have happened since it is a long time since I last played it) and Continent of the Ninth (which isn't released yet, but will in a couple of months) which are mmorpg.

Re: MMORPG Advices.
IMHO the only game worthy paying for it is WoW... simply cuz other way it'll bug you death
playing on some kinda freeshard... but L2 for example is playable enough even on private servers (playing it for 4 years already)

Re: MMORPG Advices.
I'm not much of a MMO player but since you ask...Aion is one of the newest (isnt it) and a friend of mine told me that its cool, but it need 2,8 GHz.Guild Wars if popular.WOW is...well its WOW if you have friends playing it than you should join them. There are some friends of mine that play Silkroad (what is that) but it takes lots of time to join from what i hear.
Oh and you said free i said WOW,well it has free servers which work perfectly fine with lots of players of no lags (well...)

Guild Wars has no servers, just some district shit , which work like servers, but you can't create them.. Also waiting for GW 2.
@Stunkata
GW is popular , the american districts are always full in the most known cities , there are players even in the most suckiest places (NOTE: the americans are the most suckiest players). Aion is the newest of all , not worth it. GW 2 will pwn all.
And what about BOTS ?????
