1. Grave of fireflies- Very touching, original war story
2. Brave Story- A Brave Story as the title says
3. Princess Mononoke- A great reflection of human greed
4. Origin: Spirit of the Past- Possibility of chaos in near future
5. The girl who lept through time- Great plot, Great humor
6. Spirited Away- Rich in culture and adventure
7. Pom Poko- Entertaining yet, great moral
8. My Neigbor Totoro- Master peice of Imagination
9. Howl's Moving Castle- Amazing magicaly imaginative world
10. KiKi's deliverly service- Ever lasting classic

Some of those are more like anime MOVIES anyway. Plus Howl's moving castle sucked. AND these are the more classic and old ones, which OLD people like (no offence) and are more "hip" now since they've been recommended to everybody. I wouldn't really name these as the top anime. Most of these are rated G anyway.

But I must say, The girl who leapt through time was pretty good.

So do we name our top 10 here, or just discuss those ones?

I like Miyazaki's work as much as the tend guy, but I don't think so much of his stuff should be here.

Liking an anime is one thing, but if you have no knowledge of it, never watched it before, and just put it on a list for the hell of it, then you might want to look at more anime.

I don't have a top 10, but I'll name a few that I have enjoyed.

1. Princess Mononoke(still a favorite of mine)
2. Akira
3. Paprika
4. Fist of the North Star(not the newer version)
5. DBZ(wasn't bad when I was like 10, but now, it's crap to me)
6. HellSing(still enjoy watching it, although Seras Victoria hardly fights)

I haven't watched much anime, but I do enjoy it overall.

LOL at this thread. Generic shonen everywhere, Bgnin breakin down peoples list, LJ cryin, Zazz hurlin warns. Yeah, never closing this thread.

As far as peoples list goes, since this is not discussing the 10 best anime, but peoples 10 favorites, you can't tell them that something cannot be on there. If someone lacks enough diversity in the anime they've seen to somehow need to put Naruto on their list, that's their business. Now, as for LJ listing things that aren't anime.... Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Jackie Chan Adventures are not anime, so they shouldn't be on anyone's list.
