Yes, now that we are talking about countries system, of all the 4 years I've been here, I never saw any use of them except dividing people and hatred.. previously there were nice contests battle and there was a full actual specialization of each country. But now there isnt.. All countries from inside are similar having a discussion thread, an intro thread, some forum games and a bit others.. which is like a mini forum of its own isnt it? Many users dont even post outside countries so deleting them would make the cats come out of the bags lol XD..

ITS TIME FOR A CHANGE.

Deleting the countries isn't going to make those members post outside of the their respected countries. That's a dumb option to go with.

Actually I just posted the point.. I don't mind that one much anyways, as you can see in my previous to previous post where I posted my plan, IF everything goes well then only we should think about replacing old systems..

Ideas to bring activity to the forum again doesn't come into my mind. I do think the forum needs some changes because changing is good now and then but I don't know what to think about it, guess I just don't care that much anymore.

Even though, if the majority of you decide something and need help, count me in.

Man.. with this 1 sentence, you made everything that I posted so far useless .. This forum needs change, I think everyone agrees with the fact..

however if you are talking about systems like countries etc, then I agree its not bad..

if you still believe that the forum is well & good then there's no point in discussions ...

For starters, I'm talking about the systems when it comes to the countries that are currently going on. I'd like to know what is wrong with them that they would need to be amended.

Hmm, there's nothing much wrong with it, but I feel that nothing much is going on with them nowadays ..

Somehow, I still find some of your ideas for a renovation of the forum to be temporary fixes that people will soon hate after a short time, but that's just me.

2. Its still going to be better than current status
3. The stuff won't be mere renewal, you'll know what I mean .

about hate part, i can put up a poll, if more than 30% people dislike it, then we can easily revert back .. I personally have 100% faith in my ways.

I need reply I am serious, Storm.. In this currently dead forum, I am ready to put my efforts and give my 2 weeks to it.. in April. Man you really need to allow it, there are n no. of topics wanting renovation..

Well, it's obvious that more than 50% of your ideas, Rihno, aren't gonna work as good as you imagine. But more important thing is this dead forum, so do whatever you can.

Storm maybe somebody will dislike changes, but I dont see here anyone who said "We don't wanna changes", "Leave it as dead as it's now". Let's give him a chance

but yeah like you said, even in the worst case scenario where
, say 50% of my ideas dont work, its is still going to be better than what it is now.

I'm not against giving him a chance DrKret. I just want to know that these ideas will not be half-assed and put together on a whim. I'm sure Rhino has ideas that will last long after initially made so I will do what I can to help.

Even I had a couple of things in mind about this renovation stuff since quite a while, but I wasn't able to post because of exams and other things. So here are some of my ideas:

1. Bring back the credits system : I know it has been quite misused in the past by mods, but we should have mods create threads in the countries to keep records of the credits distributed through some event or such. This could prevent the abuse of the system. Also, as long as there are active admins, mods that abuse this system can be removed.

2. The 'Shop' system: If you're old enough on the forum, you'd know what it was. Give people some place to spend their hard earned credits, it could help very much in keeping the forum active. (For those who are new, it was a sub forum where you could spend your credits on something you want or you could open your own shop (thread) to earn some by offering your services.)

3. New Mods: If you glance over the mods in each forum, you can see that many of them are inactive currently. And in my opinion, A mod is responsible for the in-activeness of a forum. Trying to keep the forum/sub-forum active is one of the jobs of a moderator.

4. Regarding Countries: I think a country should have only one speciality. Right now the situation is that most of the countries specialize in multiple things. This leads to the members joining a country with more members already (In our case : Fire). I'm not against that but it keeps the other countries inactive which we don't want. Think about it, previously each country had only 1-2 special things about them and because of that the active members were evenly divided across them as per their own interest.
Also limiting members in a country can be good to avoid concentration of people in one country. The new speciality of the countries should be decided by the kages in front of the admin so as to avoid repetitions.

5. Tournaments : We should hold events and tournaments of all fields in the entire forum not just in a particular country. Since I'm free for the next few months, I can hold up official ntsd tournaments and other mods should consider holding such similar events (gfx, coding, gaming, etc) too. If the credits system is implemented, we could see more and more people joining such events.

I know that doing all this won't absolutely guarantee the activeness of the forum but it's well worth a try. You can appoint a temporary (trusted) person as an admin to help you with these ideas.

Feel free to correct if you thought I was wrong.

Tl;dr : This forum needs change.
